Samsung’s forthcoming One UI 8.5, anticipated to launch concurrently with the Galaxy S26 series in January, is poised to introduce a new feature: AI-powered notification summaries. Information regarding this integration has emerged from a recently leaked early build of the software.
Within the leaked One UI 8.5 build, the AI-powered notification summary feature is present, although its operational functionality is currently unavailable. The feature’s purpose is to utilize artificial intelligence to condense and summarize notification content. Upon accessing the notification shade, a pop-up will appear, providing a description of the feature. Users will be presented with the option to either dismiss the prompt or enable the functionality within the device’s Settings menu.

Additionally, One UI 8.5 will incorporate the ability to trigger actions or launch applications via a double-tap gesture on the device’s rear panel. While this functionality was previously attainable on Samsung devices through the Good Lock application, it will now be integrated directly into the One UI interface.
