HMD Global has introduced the HMD Touch 4G, a device positioned as a hybrid solution, bridging the gap between a feature phone and a smartphone. This device, currently exclusive to the Indian market, revives the concept of the Nokia Asha series, offering enhanced functionalities through cloud-based browser applications.
The HMD Touch 4G operates on a custom lightweight Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) known as RTOS Touch. This platform facilitates access to cloud-hosted browser applications, providing users with a streamlined user experience. The device also features the pre-installed Express Chat application, supporting text, voice, and image messaging. This application allows for cross-platform communication with Android and iOS users, provided the application is installed on their respective devices.
Regarding specifications, the HMD Touch 4G incorporates a 3.2-inch LCD display with a QVGA resolution of 320×240 pixels. The device is equipped with a 0.3MP front-facing camera and a 2MP rear-facing camera complemented by an LED flash.
