iOS/iPadOS 26.1: Apple Seeds Second Developer Beta.

Apple has released the second developer betas for iOS 26.1 and its associated operating systems. These updates encompass several platforms, indicating ongoing refinement and feature enhancements across the Apple ecosystem.
iOS 26.1 Beta 2 for iPhones introduces several improvements and resolves identified software defects. Notable changes include a redesigned interface for the Alarms and Timers functionalities, replacing the tap-to-stop mechanism with a “Slide to stop” action. Furthermore, the update incorporates a new toggle within the Privacy & Security settings, enabling users to automate the download and installation of security patches. The Fitness application now supports the creation of customized workout routines.
Parallel to the iOS 26.1 update, iPadOS 26.1 Beta 2 reintroduces the Slide Over multitasking feature. This update also provides the functionality to adjust the input gain for external microphones connected to the iPad, enhancing audio customization options.
In addition to iOS and iPadOS, Apple has concurrently released Beta 2 updates for macOS 26.1 Tahoe, watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and visionOS 26.1. These updates signify a coordinated effort to improve the functionality and security of Apple devices across various platforms.
