Samsung Tri-Fold Phone: Patented Design Features Triple-Battery Powerhouse.

Samsung is poised to introduce its inaugural tri-fold smartphone, anticipated to be named the Galaxy Z TriFold, later this year. While the official launch date remains unconfirmed, a recent patent application filed with KIPRIS sheds light on the device’s internal architecture, specifically the integration of a three-battery system.

The patent documentation delineates the structural design, revealing three distinct battery cells corresponding to the tri-fold’s segmented design. The smallest battery (T1) is positioned within the section accommodating the triple rear camera array. The largest battery (T2) will be housed in the central segment, which folds between the other two. The second-largest battery (T3) is located within the segment encompassing the cover display.

The patent filing does not disclose specific battery capacities or charging speeds. However, industry analysts anticipate improvements over the Galaxy Z Fold7, which features a 4,400 mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging.

Initial speculation suggested a limited geographic rollout, potentially confined to South Korea and China. Subsequent reports indicate a possible release in the United States. Furthermore, rumors have circulated regarding a potential unveiling of the device by the end of October.

In related news, Samsung is also expected to launch its first Android XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan, this month. Pre-registrations in South Korea are scheduled to commence on October 15th and conclude on October 21st, with an anticipated launch date of October 22nd.
