Realme GT8 Officially Launched in China: A Detailed Overview
The Realme GT8 has been unveiled in China, positioned as a variant of the GT8 Pro. While sharing aesthetic similarities and core specifications with its Pro counterpart, the GT8 incorporates several key distinctions.
Design and Availability:
The Realme GT8 maintains a similar design profile to the GT8 Pro. Available color options include white, green (featuring a micro-texture finish), and blue (matte). Notably, the camera island design is fixed, precluding customization options.
Key Hardware Specifications:
The Realme GT8 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, differentiating it from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in the GT8 Pro. The device features a 7,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging, a reduction from the Pro model’s 120W capability. However, the charging time disparity is minimal, with the GT8 reaching 100% in approximately 45 minutes, just two minutes slower than the Pro. Wireless charging is not supported.
Display:
The Realme GT8 incorporates a 6.79-inch 1440p AMOLED display with a 144Hz LTPO panel. The display boasts a high brightness profile, rated up to 2,000 nits, with a peak brightness reaching 4,000 nits.
Camera System:
The Realme GT8 features a modified camera configuration. The primary camera utilizes a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor with a 22mm f/1.8 lens, and is tuned in collaboration with Ricoh. This partnership provides access to Ricoh’s color science, which includes shooting modes such as Hi-contrast B&W, Monotone, and Standard.
Secondary camera specifications differ from the GT8 Pro. The zoom lens is a 50MP unit (as opposed to 200MP) with an 80mm f/2.8 lens. The ultrawide lens features an 8MP resolution with a smaller sensor, and ultrawide has only half the resolution at 16MP.
Software:
The device operates on Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0. The camera application has been redesigned to align with the Ricoh collaboration.
