iPhone Future: Bezel-less, Flippable by 2028? Rumors Swirl.

Apple’s anticipated foray into the foldable smartphone market is reportedly slated for late 2026 with the introduction of the “iPhone Fold.” Recent reports indicate that the company may expand its foldable and innovative form factor offerings in subsequent years, specifically in 2027 and 2028.

The initial iPhone Fold is projected to adopt a book-style design, integrating an LTPO+ flexible OLED panel approximately equivalent in size to the iPad mini. A glass mid-frame is purportedly incorporated to mitigate display wrinkling, a common challenge in foldable device design.

Anticipated for release in 2027 is a bezel-free iPhone, employing a four-edge bending OLED display. This model is also rumored to incorporate a “Crater diffusion layer” to address brightness uniformity concerns. Furthermore, an under-display solution for Face ID is expected, coinciding with the 20th-anniversary milestone of the iPhone.

The year 2028 is predicted to see the unveiling of a clamshell foldable device, tentatively designated the “iPhone Flip.” This model is expected to feature a minimalistic external display for displaying essential information, providing access to AI-powered shortcuts, and delivering notifications. Design specifications are anticipated to include curved edges and a lightweight construction.
