Xiaomi’s 17 series, comprising the 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, is anticipated to be complemented by the 17 Ultra, completing the flagship product line. While the official unveiling date remains unconfirmed, historical precedent suggests a potential release timeline. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, for example, was officially introduced in February.
Recent reports originating from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, a prominent source of tech-related information, provide insights into the anticipated camera specifications of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The device is projected to feature a newly developed 50MP primary camera. This camera is designed to enhance in-sensor zoom functionality, extending its capabilities across a wider range of zoom levels and approaching the focal length of the periscope zoom camera.
Further, the 17 Ultra is rumored to incorporate a 200MP periscope zoom camera. This camera is expected to offer telephoto macro functionality and multi-focal lossless zoom capabilities. These components are expected to provide an exceptionally wide dynamic range.
Prior speculation indicated the Xiaomi 17 Ultra may feature a quad-camera system on the rear, each lens potentially boasting a 50MP resolution, with the exception of the periscope telephoto lens. The integration of the rear screen design, present on the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models, remains uncertain due to the increased space requirements of the larger camera array in the Ultra model.
