Huawei Technologies has filed a patent application detailing a novel augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) glasses design. The innovation centers on a detachable component in the form of a ring. This ring, when removed from the glasses’ head strap, functions as a dedicated input device for user interface control.
The proposed system incorporates gesture recognition and positional tracking capabilities within the ring device. These functionalities enable users to manipulate the AR/VR interface through a variety of control methods, including pointing and navigation commands.
