Realme GT 8 Pro: Sleek Design Unveiled Before Global Launch.

Realme GT 8 Pro: Redefining Smartphone Design with Customizable Camera Aesthetics

In a departure from conventional smartphone design, Realme unveiled its flagship GT 8 Pro in China last month. A key differentiator of this device is its innovative approach to customization, centered around a removable lens cover. This feature allows users to easily alter the aesthetic of the rear camera module, offering a range of styles including circular, square, and robot-themed designs, complemented by diverse color and material options.

Prior to the global launch of the GT 8 Pro, Realme has released further details on the device’s switchable camera bump and other key design elements. The lens cover is secured by two screws, enabling users to experiment with various styles. While Realme will offer first-party camera bump options, the design also facilitates the creation of custom designs through 3D printing, catering to tech-savvy users seeking unique personalization.

Furthermore, Realme has integrated subtle contrasting colors into the underlying “robot-themed” lens module, enhancing the device’s visual appeal.

Chase Xu, CMO and Vice President of Realme, emphasized the design philosophy, stating, “The Switchable Camera Bump is a boldly different approach. It offers the joy of handicrafts and the freedom of combination, much like building blocks. This isn’t just a feature; it’s our blueprint for redefining flagship design: diverse, personalized, and true to the user.”

The GT 8 Pro will be available in Diary White and Urban Blue color variants. The Urban Blue model introduces a novel “paper-like” back finish, achieved through a process utilizing recycled plastics and textiles. This process incorporates organic dyes and a spray-applied organic silicone coating, enabling precise engraving at a 0.02mm level, according to Realme.
