Honor Magic8 Pro: European Edition Shrinks Battery, A Quick Glance.
The Honor Magic8 Pro: Regional Battery Capacity and Charging Specifications
Recent reports confirm that the newly launched Honor Magic8 Pro will feature varying battery capacities across different geographical regions. While the Chinese variant, currently available, is equipped with a 7,200mAh Silicon-Carbon (Si/C) battery, the global version will offer a slightly reduced capacity of 7,100mAh. This represents a marginal decrease of less than 2%, which is unlikely to significantly impact user experience.
However, the European Union (EU) variant of the Magic8 Pro will incorporate a more substantial reduction in battery capacity, utilizing a 6,270mAh battery. This constitutes a reduction of nearly 12% compared to the Chinese model. This difference is expected to have a noticeable impact on the device’s battery life. Although the 6,270mAh capacity remains relatively substantial, exceeding the battery capacity of the Honor Magic7 Pro (EU version) by 1,000mAh, this discrepancy warrants consideration. The Honor Magic7 Pro, for reference, achieved an Active Use score of 13:53h, suggesting the Magic8 Pro should achieve comparable or superior results, despite the diminished capacity.
Furthermore, the Chinese model of the Magic8 Pro supports a wired charging rate of 120W, while the global and EU models will be limited to 100W wired charging. Wireless charging capabilities remain consistent across all versions, with a charging rate of 80W.
Further information regarding the Honor Magic8 Pro’s global release and performance benchmarks will be released shortly.
