Beginning in 2026, the company is projected to bifurcate the iPhone 18 series release into two distinct phases. The “Pro” models are slated for their traditional fall unveiling, while the standard models are anticipated to debut in the spring of 2027.
This revised schedule will involve a concentrated product release in the fall of 2026. This launch event is expected to feature the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the anticipated iPhone Fold, alongside potential updates to the Apple Watch and Mac product lines.
Subsequently, in the spring of 2027, Apple is predicted to introduce the base model iPhone 18. Furthermore, this spring release may include a successor to the iPhone 16e (potentially designated as the iPhone 18e) and a possible successor to the iPhone Air, representing a wider diversification of the iPhone lineup over time.
This staggered approach is designed to enhance operational flexibility and potentially mitigate the logistical complexities associated with a single, large-scale product launch.
Regarding the iPhone Air, it is suggested that Apple is utilizing this device as a hardware testing platform for the development of its foldable iPhone, anticipating similar design characteristics between the two. However, it is reported that the iPhone Air will likely not include a second camera lens, with Apple reportedly believing an ultrawide unit is not a priority for this model.
