Samsung’s Galaxy Glasses: 2026 Launch & Early Design Details Revealed

Samsung’s entry into the Extended Reality (XR) landscape is anticipated to expand beyond its initial headset offering. Multiple sources and prior reports suggest the company is developing a pair of XR glasses, with model number SM-O200P. The inclusion of the letter “O” in the model number, differentiating it from the Galaxy XR headset model designation, indicates a distinct product category.
Early reports suggest Samsung’s XR glasses may bear similarities to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, potentially representing a phased launch strategy. Rumors indicate an initial release in 2026 without a display, followed by a subsequent model featuring a screen in 2027.
The initial iteration of the glasses is rumored to incorporate Transitions lenses, providing automatic adjustment to ambient light conditions. This technology, a registered trademark of EssilorLuxottica, the manufacturer of Ray-Ban eyewear, enables the lenses to darken in sunlight and become transparent indoors. The potential implementation of this specific technology by Samsung, or a comparable photochromic alternative, remains to be confirmed.
Similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, Samsung’s offering is expected to incorporate a camera, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. A key differentiator is the potential integration of a mobile data connection, a feature absent in Meta’s current product. Furthermore, Samsung has registered the trademark “Galaxy Glasses,” suggesting this may be the product’s official branding.
While the launch market for the Galaxy Glasses is confirmed to include the United States, details regarding other potential markets are currently unavailable.
