Apple’s Future: OLED Displays Coming to iPads and MacBook Air.

Apple to Introduce OLED Displays in iPad Air, Mini, and MacBook Air Lineups

According to a recent report by Bloomberg, Apple is actively developing significant display upgrades for its iPad Air, iPad mini, and MacBook Air product lines. The company is reportedly testing new models of these devices equipped with OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) displays, representing a notable technological advancement.

The report indicates that Apple intends to incorporate an OLED panel into the iPad mini by 2026. This transition to OLED technology is expected to provide enhanced visual performance compared to current display technologies. However, this upgrade is anticipated to result in a higher retail price, potentially increasing the cost of the OLED iPad mini by up to $100 compared to the existing model.

Furthermore, the redesigned iPad mini is also rumored to incorporate improvements beyond the display upgrade. These include a redesigned chassis with enhanced water resistance and an upgraded speaker system.

The iPad Air is also slated to receive an OLED display in a future iteration. However, the forthcoming generation of the iPad Air is expected to retain the existing LCD panel technology.

In the MacBook Air product line, Apple is also developing an OLED version. The projected launch timeframe for the OLED MacBook Air is set for 2028. This potential future upgrade highlights Apple’s ongoing commitment to advancing display technologies across its product portfolio.
