Following the recent market introduction of devices incorporating Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 System-on-Chip (SoC), preliminary specifications for its successor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, have emerged.
Anticipated to be unveiled in September 2026, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is projected to leverage a 2-nanometer manufacturing process, potentially provided by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). This advanced process is expected to yield significant enhancements in both power efficiency and overall performance compared to the preceding generation.
Reports suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will incorporate support for LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage technologies. Furthermore, the component’s pricing is speculated to be higher than that of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, potentially influencing the retail cost of smartphones utilizing the new SoC.
