Fars Industry Official: Internet Blackout Impacts 4,000 Digital Businesses

The Deputy for Planning at the Fars Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization reports that 4,000 certified websites in the province have been severely affected by the internet disruption.
When asked if physical production units in Fars province had sustained damage during recent protests, Sadati clarified:
“Production units have not suffered physical damage; however, digital businesses are facing severe difficulties due to the internet blackout.”
Impact on E-Commerce and Certified Sites
Sadati highlighted the presence of 4,000 websites in Fars province that hold the “E-Namad” (Electronic Trust Symbol). He noted that these businesses rely primarily on cyberspace to provide services and have been significantly impacted by the disconnection.
“A number of major internet platforms such as Digikala and Snapp, which facilitate sales and services, are currently operating,” Sadati explained, “but they are facing limitations due to the internet outage.”
Distinguishing Platforms from Independent Sellers
The Deputy for Planning and Investment drew a distinction between large aggregator platforms and independent certified websites.
“The 4,000 websites holding the trust symbol conduct buying and selling directly over the web infrastructure; therefore, they encounter critical problems when the internet is cut off,” Sadati stated.
New Union for Digital Businesses
In a related development, Karim Mojarrab, the Director General of Industry, Mine, and Trade for Fars, appeared on a live television program to discuss the situation. Pointing to the impact of the internet blackout on the digital economy, he announced that a dedicated Union for Digital Businesses will soon be established in the province to better support this sector.
