Galaxy S25 Edge Price Drops, Plus iPad Pros and MacBook Pro Cuts

Market Analysis: Smartphone and Tablet Price Trends and New Product Developments
The US market has exhibited limited new smartphone launches in recent weeks; however, several price reductions and new product releases warrant attention.
Samsung Galaxy Series:
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, equipped with 256GB of storage, is currently priced below $700, with an upgrade to 512GB available for an additional $40. Notably, the S25 Edge is now offered at a lower price point than the standard Galaxy S25, excluding the 128GB variant.
The Edge model features a 6.7-inch display and weighs approximately 163g, comparable to the standard S25. Battery capacity is similar across models, approximately 3,900mAh/4,000mAh. An advantage of the Edge variant is the inclusion of a 200MP main camera, a feature previously exclusive to the Ultra series.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra remains priced around $1,000, varying with storage configuration (256GB or 512GB).
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE features a larger form factor than the S25 Edge, with increased dimensions, thickness (7.4mm vs. 5.8mm), and weight (190g vs. 163g). The price differential between the 256GB models is minimal, suggesting potential for further price adjustments for the FE model. The S25 FE utilizes a 1080p+ display and an Exynos 2400 chipset, which contrasts with the 1440p+ display and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset featured in the S25 Edge.
OnePlus Devices:
The OnePlus 15 has recently launched in China, and a global release is anticipated. In the meantime, the OnePlus 13 is experiencing notable price reductions, particularly for the 512GB model.
The OnePlus 13R, priced at $533 for the 256GB unit, offers a compelling value proposition when compared to the S25 FE. It incorporates a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 6.78-inch display with a 1264p+ resolution (both are LTPO). The 13R’s telephoto camera surpasses the S25 FE in resolution (50MP vs. 8MP) but has a shorter focal length (2x/47mm vs. 3x/75mm). The 13R also features a larger battery (6,000mAh vs. 4,900mAh) and faster wired charging (80W vs. 45W), though it lacks wireless charging (15W on the FE).
Apple Products:
The recently unveiled Apple iPad Pro models, featuring the latest M5 chipset, have been released and are now available with a $50 discount. This discount also applies to the revamped Apple MacBook Pro 2025 14.2” laptop.
Android Tablets and Audio Devices:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+ are offered in 10.9-inch and 13.1-inch sizes with 90Hz IPS LCDs. The FE models feature mid-range Exynos 1580 processors and support DeX multitasking.
The CMF Headphone Pro, currently under review, has garnered favorable initial impressions. These over-ear headphones, priced at $100, now have a $16 discount.
The Nothing Headphone (1), priced at $300, presents a higher-end alternative. While stylistically distinct, the significant price difference places the CMF Headphone Pro in a more advantageous position.
