Samsung’s Moohan XR Headset

 

Reports indicate a revised launch timeline for Samsung’s inaugural Android XR headset, internally designated as “Project Moohan.” Initially anticipated for release on September 29th, the launch is now projected for October 22nd. This information, though awaiting official confirmation from Samsung, has been supplemented by details regarding pre-registration and regional rollout.

Citing a report from ChosunBiz, pre-registration for Project Moohan is scheduled to commence on October 15th and conclude on October 21st. The official launch date is slated for October 22nd. This timeline is presumed to apply primarily to the South Korean market, where Project Moohan is expected to debut. Subsequent expansion into other international markets will follow, though specific schedules remain unconfirmed.

Project Moohan represents a collaborative effort between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. The device will operate on the Android XR platform and is powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset. Previous speculation suggests a South Korean retail price ranging between KRW2,500,000 ($1,785 USD) and KRW4,000,000 ($2,855 USD). Initial production targets are approximately 100,000 units, subject to adjustment based on market demand.
