HMD Terra M: Rugged Enterprise Feature Phone Soon to Arrive.

HMD Global, through its HMD Secure division, has announced its expansion into the enterprise and government/defense sectors. The company’s latest offering, the Terra M, is positioned as an ultra-rugged “smart feature phone” designed for these specialized markets. The device is targeted at critical infrastructure operators, military personnel, law enforcement agencies, first responders, and government and enterprise employees.

The Terra M features a 2.8-inch glove-friendly touchscreen, a programmable Push-to-Talk (PTT) button, and an emergency key. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QCM229 chipset and supports 4G connectivity with VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, hotspot mode, and eSIM functionality. The device operates on a custom operating system, with HMD committing to five years of quarterly security updates.

Additional specifications include a 2,510 mAh battery, providing a standby time of up to 10 days. Optional accessories such as a charging cradle and belt clip are available. The Terra M is designed to address the specific communication and operational needs of its target user base within demanding environments.
