Samsung’s Q3: Solid Earnings Guidance Points to Strong Performance.

Samsung, a leading global semiconductor manufacturer, has issued its Q3 2025 earnings guidance, projecting a significant increase in profitability driven by the burgeoning artificial intelligence (AI) sector. The company anticipates its highest quarterly profit since 2022, reflecting the positive impact of the ongoing AI boom on the chip market.

Projections indicate consolidated revenues reaching KRW 86 trillion (approximately $60 billion USD), accompanied by an operating profit of KRW 12.1 trillion (approximately $8.5 billion USD). These figures represent a substantial year-over-year growth of 32% in revenue and 31.8% in operating profit, compared to the corresponding period in 2024.

The following table summarizes the key financial highlights based on K-IFRS:

2025 Q3 (Guidance) 2024 Q3 2025 Q2
Sales (in trillion KRW) 86 79.10 74.57
Operating Profit (in trillion KRW) 12.1 9.18 4.68

This positive outlook is primarily attributed to the increased demand for memory chips, particularly DRAM and NAND, utilized in data centers supporting AI infrastructure. The rising prices of these memory chips are a direct consequence of the burgeoning AI chip production. However, it should be noted that the demand for Samsung’s advanced high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips has been slower than initially anticipated.
