The Honor 500 series has been officially launched in China, representing a significant design and specification upgrade compared to the Honor 400 models. The new series exhibits a design aesthetic that draws clear inspiration from the Apple iPhone Air, particularly in its rear camera module arrangement.
Both the Honor 500 and 500 Pro incorporate aluminum frames and glass back panels. The devices share a thickness of 7.8mm and weigh 198g and 201g, respectively. The series maintains the durability standards of its predecessors, offering full IP68 and IP69K ingress protection.
The Honor 500 and 500 Pro feature 6.55-inch LTPO OLED displays with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,736 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak local brightness of 6,000 nits. Both models are equipped with in-display fingerprint scanners and 50MP front-facing cameras.
Key distinctions between the two models reside in their internal components and camera systems. The Honor 500 Pro utilizes a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while the standard Honor 500 is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip.
In terms of rear camera specifications, both variants include a 200MP main sensor (1/1.4″ sensor) and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The 500 Pro further distinguishes itself with a 50MP telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom.
Both Honor 500 models incorporate 8,000mAh Si-C batteries with support for 80W wired and 27W reverse wired charging.
Available color options for the Honor 500 series include Aquamarine, Starlight Powder (pink), Moonlight Silver, and Obsidian Black. Pre-orders are currently open, with initial shipments anticipated to commence on November 27.
