Honor has officially announced the global availability of the Magic8 and Magic8 Pro smartphones, following their initial launch in China earlier this week. While specific release dates and regional availability details remain undisclosed, confirmation from Honor indicates a forthcoming international rollout.
Both models represent a significant advancement over their predecessors, incorporating the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. A shared feature upgrade is the integration of a dedicated AI button. Furthermore, both the Magic8 and Magic8 Pro incorporate larger batteries than previous generation models, despite exhibiting a reduced form factor compared to their Magic7 series counterparts.
Honor Magic8 and Magic8 Pro
The Honor Magic8 Pro features a 6.71-inch OLED display, a slight decrease from the 6.8-inch display of the previous model. Battery capacity has been enhanced, with the Chinese variant housing a 7,200mAh battery and the European variant a 6,270mAh battery, compared to the previous year’s 5,850mAh and 5,270mAh respectively.
The primary camera retains a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.3″ size, but the variable aperture has been replaced with a fixed f/1.6 aperture. The telephoto camera has been upgraded; its 200MP 1/1.4″ sensor is paired with a longer 3.7x lens, an improvement from the 3x lens in the prior generation.

The Honor Magic8 mirrors this trend with a reduced size. It offers a 6.58-inch OLED display, down from 6.78″, while simultaneously increasing its battery capacity to 7,000mAh.
Camera specifications for the Magic8 have been modified. The 50MP main camera now utilizes a smaller 1/1.56″ sensor, whereas the Magic7’s main camera shared the same 1/1.3″ sensor as the Magic7 Pro. The telephoto module has also been adjusted, employing a 64MP sensor instead of a 50MP sensor, while maintaining the same 3x magnification level.
