Reza Olfat-Nasab, the head of the National Union of Virtual Businesses, has delivered promising news for internet users in his latest remarks. According to him, the process of restoring the internet to its natural state has begun, and following direct follow-ups by executive bodies, we will soon witness the lifting of recent restrictions.
Signs of Recovery: From the Return of Google to New Pledges
Pointing to positive changes in access to the global network, Olfat-Nasab announced that openings have been created in internet connectivity. He cited the restoration of access to key and widely used services, such as Google, as a clear sign of improving conditions, emphasizing that the current path represents a forward motion toward returning conditions to normal.
Describing the current situation, the Head of the Virtual Businesses Union stated:
“The internet is undergoing gradual stages of recovery, and based on numerous meetings held, it will return to its former routine soon. We are continuously consulting and pursuing the demands of businesses and the public in this regard.”
Refuting “Tiered Internet” Rumors: Equal Access for Everyone
One of the primary concerns of users in recent days has been the discussion regarding the launch of a “Tiered Internet”. Olfat-Nasab denied this matter, explaining that temporary decisions made during crisis conditions should not be mistaken for a change in general policy.
He clarified:
“In specific conditions, limited and temporary access might be established for essential sectors, such as medicine imports, to prevent disruption in the country’s vital affairs. However, this measure by no means signifies the implementation of a tiered internet, and such an interpretation should not be made.”
Unified Access Following the Removal of Restrictions
Olfat-Nasab firmly announced that with the full connection of the internet, access will be provided in a unified and public manner for all people. Accordingly, the internet is not intended to be limited to specific groups or individuals; once technical and security issues are resolved, all citizens will connect to the network equally.
President’s Special Intervention to Resolve Internet Issues
Another part of the Virtual Businesses Union chief’s remarks was dedicated to the government’s efforts. Pointing to the serious determination of the executive branch, he said:
“The President personally, along with the Minister of Communications, is pursuing the return of the internet with high sensitivity. There were even plans to return the situation to normal by Saturday, but certain technical considerations caused a slight delay.”
In conclusion, Olfat-Nasab emphasized that considering the latest meeting held on Monday, the 29th of Dey, a bright outlook lies ahead for users, and it is expected that the file on the internet outage will be closed in the coming days.
