As Black Friday sales approach their conclusion, the availability of certain devices, particularly tablets, has diminished. However, several compelling options remain available, alongside other noteworthy gadget deals. This report provides an overview of notable offers on tablets, laptops, smart rings, and e-readers, specifically focusing on the German market. Tablets:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+, while not featuring a “Plus” variant in the 2025 generation, remains a strong contender. It is equipped with the Dimensity 9300+ chipset and features a 12.4″ display.
The Redmi Pad 2 offers an 11″ display and a 90Hz IPS LCD. It is powered by the Helio G100 Ultra chipset.
Laptops:
The Microsoft Surface Pro is a Windows tablet that utilizes Qualcomm’s ARM chipset. It is offered in various configurations, including models with LCD or OLED displays and either the Snapdragon X Plus or X Elite processor. The 13″ LCD variant with the Snapdragon X Plus includes a complimentary keyboard. The keyboard is a separate purchase for the OLED/X Elite models.
Alternatively, the Microsoft Surface Laptop offers various screen configurations, including LCD and OLED options, ranging from 13″ to 15″ in size, and a choice between the Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite chipsets.
The Asus Zenbook A14 features a 14″ 16:10 OLED display (1,920 x 1,200px) and promises up to 32 hours of battery life. It is powered by a Snapdragon X Plus chipset and weighs less than 1 kg. The device’s dimensions range from 13.4mm to 15.9mm in thickness. Its 70Wh battery supports fast charging via USB-C, achieving a 60% charge in approximately 49 minutes.
Smart Rings:
Smart rings offer an alternative or supplementary functionality to smartwatches. The Samsung Galaxy Ring is compatible with the Samsung Health app and does not require a subscription. The Ultrahuman Ring Air provides nearly complete functionality within its application, although a subscription unlocks additional features. The Oura Ring 4’s functionality is limited without a subscription.
Amazon Fire Kids Tablets:
Amazon offers Kids versions of their Fire tablets, specifically designed for younger users. These tablets feature ad-free operation, durable cases, and a 2-year worry-free warranty. They include a 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, providing curated content for children, including Marvel TV shows.
The Parent Dashboard application, available on mobile devices, allows for setting time limits and educational goals. Specific applications, such as YouTube and Spotify, can be enabled or disabled. Pro models have different default permission settings. For instance, a Pro tablet may have full internet access, subject to content filters, while standard models restrict access to select sites. Parental control options can be adjusted through the app.
E-readers:
E-readers offer a preferable reading experience compared to LCD tablets. Amazon provides a variety of e-readers, ranging from entry-level to premium models.
The Amazon Kindle Colorsoft features an e-ink display capable of displaying colors, ideal for graphic novels and complex documents. It can also operate in black and white, increasing the screen’s PPI.
The Amazon Kindle Scribe is designed for reading PDFs and comes with an integrated stylus, catering to work and creative tasks, in addition to book reading. A Colorsoft variant is planned for release, though it was not available in time for Black Friday.
