iPhone 18: Upgraded Selfies Across the Board, According to Report.

Recent reports suggest significant advancements are planned for the upcoming iPhone 18 series, specifically concerning front-facing camera technology. Initial reports indicated the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models would feature a redesigned front-facing camera housing, potentially incorporating under-display Face ID technology.

Analyst forecasts from JP Morgan now indicate that the entire iPhone 18 lineup will receive a 24-megapixel front-facing camera. This represents a substantial increase in resolution compared to the current generation’s 12-megapixel sensor.

Entire iPhone 18 lineup to get upgraded selfie cameras, new report claims

It is noteworthy that the 24MP front-facing camera specification was previously rumored for the iPhone 17 series, but was ultimately omitted. This upgrade appears to have been deferred to the following generation.

Furthermore, the JP Morgan report also suggests that the forthcoming iPhone Fold will incorporate an under-display 24MP front-facing camera for its folding display. Conversely, the iPhone 17e and iPhone 18e models are projected to retain the existing 12MP front-facing camera.

The anticipated launch schedule for these devices indicates that the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Air 2 are scheduled for a September 2026 release, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are projected to launch in the Spring of 2027.
