Jomhouriat Party Calls for Restoration of Internet Access

Party members argue that the internet blackout targets only ordinary citizens and the national economy while failing to block external information sources, demanding an immediate reconnection.
According to a report by ISNA, members of the party’s Central Council discussed the consequences of the ongoing disconnect. They argued that in an environment where satellite television networks remain active and satellite internet technologies are available, blocking domestic access serves no strategic purpose.
“Cutting off internet access only targets ordinary people and the country’s economy and achieves no other result,” the members stated during the session.
Proposal for Designated Protest Zones
In addition to the digital rights issue, the Jomhouriat Party addressed the handling of civil unrest. The members announced that they have formally requested the government to designate specific venues for public protests.
They emphasized that such locations should ensure the maintenance of security while guaranteeing “freedom of speech and freedom after speech,” allowing citizens to voice their grievances safely.
