Motorola’s “Urus” Phone: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Power Incoming!

Qualcomm’s recent introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile system-on-chip (SoC) family, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 announced in September, has sparked considerable interest within the mobile technology sector. The initial commercial deployment of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is anticipated with the OnePlus 15R, slated for an international launch on December 17th.

Following this announcement, Qualcomm confirmed that Motorola is also preparing to launch a smartphone incorporating the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. While official details from Motorola remain undisclosed, industry insider Evan Blass has released information regarding a forthcoming Motorola device, codenamed “Urus,” expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

According to Blass, “Urus” is slated to be a non-foldable flagship, potentially branded as the Edge 70 Ultra. The potential for a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered device from Motorola may indicate a Razr 70 Ultra variant.
