OnePlus 15 Review: Sleek Design, Powerful Performance, Future Now?

Preliminary Examination: The OnePlus 15 Flagship Smartphone
This report provides an initial overview of the forthcoming OnePlus 15, slated for release in 2026. This assessment focuses on design and included accessories, accompanied by sample imagery from the device’s camera system. Detailed performance evaluations and analytical data will be forthcoming in subsequent publications.
Packaging and Bundled Accessories:
The OnePlus 15 is presented in a redesigned package, omitting the prominent numerical branding seen in previous generations. The packaging variant for the Indian market includes the handset, a 120W fast charger with accompanying cable, and a color-matched soft silicone case. In contrast, markets such as the European Union and the United States will receive a streamlined package containing only the cable.
Optional Accessories:
OnePlus will offer a range of first-party cases for the OnePlus 15, including the “Hole-Pattern Magnetic Case.” This case features a design reminiscent of computer case aesthetics, with a grid of square perforations. The case incorporates a MagSafe-compatible magnetic coil, enabling compatibility with magnetic chargers, including the OnePlus AIRVOOC 50W Magnetic Charger. Note that the OnePlus 15 itself does not incorporate magnets, necessitating the use of the proprietary case or alternative magnetic cases for compatibility with magnetic charging solutions.
Design Evolution:
The OnePlus 15 features a refined design language, building upon the aesthetic established by the OnePlus 13s. A key design element is the squared-off camera island, a departure from the circular camera module designs seen in the OnePlus 12 and 13. While a direct comparison is not permitted in this early assessment, the design reflects an evolutionary progression in the flagship line.
Software and Camera System:
The OnePlus 15 operates on OxygenOS 16, built upon Android 16. This iteration of the operating system introduces new animations, performance enhancements, updated lock screen effects, and integrated AI features. Further details on the OxygenOS 16 features will be provided in a dedicated review.
The device is equipped with a triple 50MP camera system, utilizing OnePlus’s “DetailMax Engine.” Sample images from the main, telephoto, and ultra-wide cameras are provided for preliminary examination.
