Poco F8 Series Announced: Flagship Specifications and Bose-Enhanced Audio
Poco has unveiled its F8 series smartphones, the F8 Ultra and F8 Pro, during a launch event held in Bali, Indonesia. Both models are positioned as high-performance devices, incorporating flagship specifications and audio technology developed in collaboration with Bose.
Poco F8 Ultra
The Poco F8 Ultra is driven by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 System-on-Chip (SoC), complemented by the VisionBoost D8 chipset. Thermal management is facilitated by a 6,700 mm2 vapor chamber.
The device features a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display incorporates slim bezels and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
The rear camera system comprises a triple-camera setup. This includes a primary 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 1/1.31-inch size. It is accompanied by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide unit. A 32MP front-facing camera is integrated for selfies and video calls.
Audio capabilities are enhanced by a rear-mounted woofer, which functions in conjunction with dual speakers to create a 2.1 audio setup. Poco has partnered with Bose to optimize the audio experience across the F8 series.
The Poco F8 Ultra is powered by a 6,500mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The device operates on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, which includes various AI-driven features and Google Gemini integration. Software support is guaranteed for four years of major updates and six years of security patches.
Additional features include an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a metal frame, and eSIM support. The F8 Ultra is available in Denim Blue and Black color options.
Poco F8 Pro
The Poco F8 Pro incorporates the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and features the company’s 3D triple-layer IceLoop system for thermal efficiency.
The device is equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED LTPS display offering a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The construction features a metal frame and a glass rear panel with a matte finish.
The rear camera setup on the F8 Pro consists of a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 20MP front-facing sensor handles selfie duties.
The device houses a 6,210mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging. Additional specifications include an IP68 rating, Sound by Bose audio technology, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and eSIM support. The F8 Pro also runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out-of-the-box and receives the same software support as the F8 Ultra, with four years of major updates and six years of security patches.
The Poco F8 Pro is available in Black, Blue, and Titanium Silver. Initial pricing for the 12GB/256GB configuration is €469/$529. The 12GB/512GB model is available at €499/$579/£449 during the early bird promotion, after which the prices are scheduled to increase to €650/$579 and €700/$629/£599, respectively.
The Poco F8 Ultra comes in Black, White, and Denim Blue. The 12GB/256GB variant is priced at €649/$679/£549, and the 16GB/512GB model costs €699/$729/£599 during the early bird promotion. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is £749/$729/€830 and £800/$799/€900, respectively.
