DJI Introduces the Osmo Mobile 8 Smartphone Gimbal: Enhanced Features and Expanded Capabilities
DJI has announced the release of the Osmo Mobile 8, a new smartphone gimbal designed to enhance mobile photography and videography. The device introduces several innovative features, including direct phone connectivity and an upgraded tracking module. Currently, the Osmo Mobile 8 is available for purchase in China.
The Osmo Mobile 8 incorporates DJI’s established 3-axis gimbal stabilization technology, now augmented with unlimited 360-degree horizontal rotation capabilities. This feature allows users to capture seamless 360-degree panoramic photos and videos, even while tracking a moving subject.

The gimbal also includes an integrated extension rod, facilitating low-angle shot capture. The upgraded tracking module integrates tracking functionality, audio recording capabilities, and a fill light with adjustable brightness and color temperature settings.
The Osmo Mobile 8 is designed for extended use, with DJI claiming a battery life of up to 10 hours. Furthermore, the device can charge a connected smartphone via USB-C.

The newly designed fourth-generation magnetic clamp has been engineered for increased strength and compatibility with smartphones equipped with larger and heavier camera modules.
The Osmo Mobile 8 supports the new ActiveTrack 7.0 system, which is designed to improve overall tracking performance. Users can also utilize dual-camera tracking through the DJI Mimo application.

In China, the Osmo Mobile 8 is priced at CNY 898 (approximately $125 USD). The package includes the OM Magnetic Phone Clamp 4, the multi-function tracking module, a charging cable, and other accessories. A Vlog Kit, which includes additional accessories, is available for CNY 997 (approximately $140 USD).
The Osmo Mobile 8 is currently available for purchase through DJI’s online and offline retail channels within China, as well as on platforms such as JD.com, Tmall, and Suning.
