Anticipation surrounds the forthcoming vivo S50 series, anticipated to include the S50 Pro and S50 Pro mini models. These devices represent the successors to the S30 series, which was unveiled in May of this year.
A recent report suggests a significant divergence in chipset strategy for the vivo S50 Pro mini. Contrary to initial expectations, this model is rumored to forego the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset. Instead, the device is projected to integrate the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 system-on-chip (SoC).
Mirroring its predecessor, the S50 Pro mini is expected to adhere to a compact flagship design philosophy. Rumored specifications include a 6.31-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and a battery capacity exceeding that of the vivo X300, which is equipped with a 6,040mAh cell.
Concurrently, preliminary reports indicate that the standard vivo S50 Pro will feature a 6.59-inch display and a metal frame. Further speculation suggests the inclusion of a periscope telephoto camera system.
Historically, the vivo S30 Pro mini was globally marketed as the vivo X200 FE. Consequently, there is a possibility that the S50 Pro mini will be released internationally under the X300 FE designation.
