Spotify, the music streaming service, is reportedly planning a further increase in subscription prices within the United States market. Following a global price adjustment implemented in August, which impacted regions across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific area, the company is now expected to adjust its US pricing structure.

According to sources familiar with the matter, as reported by the Financial Times, the price adjustments are anticipated to occur in the first quarter of 2026. This move is intended to bolster Spotify’s profitability and demonstrate sustained financial performance.

The report also highlights the external pressures influencing Spotify’s pricing strategy. The music streaming industry, including Spotify, is facing demands from major record labels for price increases, partly to address the effects of inflation.

It is pertinent to note that Spotify’s previous price increase within the US market took effect in June 2024. The current monthly cost for an individual Premium plan is $11.99.

In addition to the Individual plan, Spotify offers three other Premium subscription options in the US: Student, Duo, and Family. These plans are priced at $5.99, $16.99, and $19.99 per month, respectively. Further details regarding the benefits of each plan are available [insert link or reference to plan details here].
