Vivo’s Pad 5e, Watch GT 2, TWS 5: New Tech Unveiled.

vivo Unveils New Devices Alongside Flagship Smartphone Launch

vivo has announced the introduction of several new devices, complementing the launch of its flagship X300 and X300 Pro smartphones. These include the Pad 5e tablet, the Watch GT 2 smartwatch, and the TWS 5 earbuds.

vivo Pad 5e

The vivo Pad 5e is a mid-range tablet equipped with a 12.1-inch display and powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. It shares key specifications with the vivo Pad3, released in August 2024. The tablet incorporates a 10,000 mAh battery.

The front panel features a 12.1-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1,968 x 2,800 pixels, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 7.1:5 aspect ratio. The screen supports stylus input via the optional vivo Pencil3, and compatibility with the Smart Touch Keyboard 5 enhances productivity.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is paired with 8/12/16 GB of RAM and 128-512GB of storage. The device features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Software is handled by OriginOS 5.

The Pad 5e will be available starting at CNY 1,999 ($280) for the 8/128GB configuration, with the 16/512GB model priced at CNY 2,999 ($421). Open sales in China are scheduled to commence on October 17.

vivo Watch GT 2

The Watch GT 2 boasts a 2.07-inch AMOLED screen with a peak local brightness of 2,400 nits. The design incorporates a square display and a digital crown, similar to the aesthetic of the Apple Watch.

The Watch GT 2 is offered in two versions, including an optional eSIM model. The eSIM variant features a 595mAh battery, while the Bluetooth version is equipped with a 695mAh cell. vivo estimates a battery life of up to 17 days with standard usage and 14 days with the always-on display (AOD) mode enabled.

All Watch GT 2 models incorporate optical heart rate and blood oxygen sensors, along with sleep and stress tracking functionalities. The device offers over 100 activity modes, with a focus on running, including an on-device AI coach, running guidance, running posture analysis, and a dedicated tennis mode with insights on racket swings.

The software is based on vivo’s proprietary BlueOS 3. The smartwatch also features integrated speakers and a microphone for voice calls.

The Watch GT 2 is priced starting at CNY 499 ($70) for the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth version and CNY 699 ($100) for the eSIM model.

vivo TWS 5

The TWS 5 represents vivo’s latest flagship earbuds. They feature 11mm dynamic drivers and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Two variants are available: a standard model and a Hi-Fi version. The base model supports AAC, SBC, and LDAC codecs, while the Hi-Fi model also includes LHDC playback and DeepX 4.0 stereo sound.

Active noise cancellation (ANC) is rated at up to 60dB. vivo claims a total battery life of up to 48 hours (including the charging case) with ANC disabled, and 24 hours with ANC enabled.

Additional features include IP54 ingress protection, triple-device connectivity, and on-device translation capabilities for English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and French.

The vivo TWS 5 is priced starting at CNY 399 ($56), with the Hi-Fi model priced at CNY 499 ($70).
