Samsung Z TriFold: Folding Phone Arrives Soon With Unofficial Specs.
Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch its first tri-foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, next month. Information sourced from an unnamed publication, cited by Ice Universe and corroborated by a report in The Chosun, suggests a launch date of December 5th.
Key specifications of the forthcoming device have been detailed. When unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to measure 4.2mm in thickness, expanding to 14mm when closed. This contrasts with the current generation of bi-foldable devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold7, which measures 4.2mm when open and 8.9mm when closed.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is anticipated to feature a 6.5-inch cover display, and a 10-inch inner display. The inner display is expected to adopt a wide-screen aspect ratio, differentiating it from the more square-like 8-inch display of the Z Fold7.
Powering the device will be a 5,600mAh battery, distributed across three cells, one in each segment of the folding mechanism. This represents a significant increase compared to the 4,400mAh battery found in the Z Fold7, which is split into two cells.
It is anticipated that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be produced in limited quantities, and will be positioned as a premium product. Consequently, it will likely be available in select markets.
