OriginOS 6: Vivo Unveils New Operating System at Developer Conference
Vivo officially launched OriginOS 6 at the 2025 vivo Developer Conference. This release, alongside BlueOS 3.0 and CarLink 3.0, marks a significant update to the company’s software ecosystem.
OriginOS 6 introduces a redesigned user interface emphasizing spatial depth and layered visuals. The new design incorporates 3D effects, utilizing shadows and translucent elements to create a visual hierarchy, reminiscent of Apple’s Liquid Glass design language. System animations have been refined, incorporating a new motion effect curve intended to provide a more natural and intuitive user interaction.
The OS features redesigned icons, drawing inspiration from the texture-based icons found on the vivo X Fold5. These icons utilize light and shadow layering to enhance their spatial perception.
Initially launched in China, OriginOS 6 is scheduled for a global unveiling on October 15th. The upcoming vivo X300 and iQOO 15 series will be the first devices to ship with the new operating system.
Vivo has also announced plans for a public beta program, commencing in November. The initial devices to receive OriginOS 6 during this beta phase will include the vivo X Fold5, the vivo X200 series, and the iQOO 13 and iQOO Neo10 series. Further device rollout schedules are anticipated as the beta program progresses.
